In Oct. 2006 we purchased our first home! A cape cod, built in the 1940's with 2 bedrooms and a finished attic space! We renovated the original bathroom and updated the attic space.
4 years and 2 kids later my husband accepted a promotion within his company! The promotion included a move into the next state! With 2 weeks notice, we put our house on the market, packed up and moved into a rental!
18 months later we finally sold our first home! For a major loss!
Now 10 months after selling our home we are moving! Into a wonderful neighborhood, with tons of kids and great schools! Its not our dream home, but it does offer a double corner lot, with an 800 s.f. garage. The park is across the street, literally. So, with what it lacks it makes up for in other ways.
The price was great, even if it has a bottom of the barrel blah kitchen! It offers four bedrooms, a second floor deck off the master and guest bedroom. An open kitchen/family room with a gas fire place. A huge wrap around front porch! Its a traditional layout with stairs in the front of the house, a formal living room and dining space to the left and right. The extra large laundry is off the kitchen and a mud room off the garage! The outdoor space in a dream! A huge lot, covered patio with a hot tub!
Potential is huge! We will have to adjust to no basement and no designated playroom. Some rooms will have to work double time! With careful planning and doing the work myself, the cost should be minimal! The to-do list is long, but motivating!
Over the next 3 months our family of four will purge, pack and plan for our move! Some things will get updated and refinished before the move! The kids will have a lot of purging to do! The husband will have a lot of purging to do! I will have A LOT of packing and planning to do! And maybe a little purging.
I am striving to have an organized move, with out clutter! Wish me luck!
